Miso is the result of a well-known maturation process, lasting approximately one year, of soybeans, salts and cereals, carried out in large cedar vats. This process produces a dark and very tasty paste that is mainly used together with the bouillon cubes in the preparation of soups, sauces and various condiments. Johsen Rice Miso, produced with soybeans, brown rice and salt, has a pure and intense flavour.
Ingredients:
Soybeans* (47%), brown rice* (33%), sea salt, water, koji spores (Aspergillus oryzae).
May contain traces of gluten, nuts and peanuts.
Add to soups at the end of cooking without bringing them to the boil. Miso is already salty so it is not necessary to add salt to dishes prepared with it. The possible appearance of light lumps on the surface is due to the presence of an amino acid (tyrosine) that develops naturally in fermented miso.
