PRODUCT INFORMATION

  • Food – Variety: mint, lemon, dandelion, lemon, ginger, cinnamon

Just as we regularly clean and tidy our home and decorate it with flowers, we should do the same with our body. YOGI TEA® Detox with Lemon combines mildly bitter dandelion with sweet licorice and spicy ginger in a unique infusion that helps us greet each new day with renewed enthusiasm and freshness. Fruity lemon gives it a deliciously tart taste.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Pour 250ml of freshly boiled water over the tea bag. Leave it to steep for 5 to 7 minutes – or longer for a more intense flavour.

Presentation: Pack of 17 sachets.

INGREDIENTS

lemongrass*, dandelion*, ginger*, cinnamon*, licorice*, lemon myrtle*, lemon peel*, peppermint*

*= Ingredients marked with the symbol * are certified organic.

Dandelion: Its first mention as a medicinal plant is found in the writings of Persian physicians around 900 AD. The ancient Greeks also realized very early on that the young, bittersweet leaves of the dandelion not only taste extraordinarily good, but also contain valuable bitter compounds and active ingredients.

Lemongrass: This aromatic spice and medicinal plant is also known as "fever grass" in Southeast Asia. It contains essential oils and has an intense, fresh citrus flavour. To date, the origin of this plant belonging to the grass family, which is used primarily in Asian cuisine, is unknown.

Lemon peel: The peel of the lemon tree fruit, which comes from India, is as aromatic as its refreshing, acidic pulp. However, the peel contains up to ten times more vitamins than the juice, as well as beneficial essential oils and phytonutrients.

Ginger: Ginger has been used in the Far East for over 3,000 years as a spice and medicinal plant. It has a spicy and fruity flavour and contains various vitamins, essential oils and valuable minerals.

Cinnamon: Cinnamon is one of the most expensive spices in the world and must have been used as a spice and medicinal plant in China as far back as 3,000 BC. Cinnamon is obtained from the bark of the cinnamon tree in South Asia, has a sweet, aromatic taste and contains numerous tannins and beneficial essential oils.

Licorice: Licorice has been known since ancient times as a medicinal plant and is one of the 50 basic herbs of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It is about 50 times sweeter than sugar and has a mildly sweet, sour-bitter taste. Thanks to its valuable nutrients, licorice was chosen as the official plant of the year in 2012.

Lemon myrtle: Lemon myrtle grows almost exclusively in the Australian state of Queensland. Aboriginal people were quick to discover its importance as a medicinal plant and collected the intensely scented leaves to make tea and oil. Lemon myrtle has a strong citrus flavour and contains prized essential oils.

Peppermint: First discovered in 1696 and probably the result of a chance cross between Mentha aquatica and Mentha spicata, it is now one of the most important medicinal plants in the world. Peppermint has a slightly spicy flavour and is popular all over the world for its refreshing aroma and its valuable components. In 2004 it was chosen as the medicinal plant of the year.
